COVID-19 vaccine HK incentives 2021

Since April 15, residents in Hong Kong aged 16 and older have been fortunate enough to access free COVID-19 vaccines. To motivate more people to get their jabs and help Hong Kong return to business as usual, many of the largest companies and brands are offering incentives and raffles to those who get vaccinated. Here are some COVID-19 vaccine incentives in Hong Kong in 2021.

Travel

From staycation deals to free flight tickets and reduced quarantine time, here are some of the most attractive travel-related incentives.

Reduced quarantine time

Fully vaccinated inbound travelers to Hong Kong can experience a shorter quarantine time, though the hotel quarantine duration depends on the country you are traveling from. All travelers must submit self-monitoring COVID-19 tests in the week after leaving one of the HK government’s approved quarantine hotels. Quarantine times for vaccinated inbound travelers to Hong Kong include 7 days, 14 days, and 21 days.

Check out Hong Kong Government’s Coronavirus website for more information about quarantine requirements for inbound travelers.

Free MTR travel for one year

The MTR recently announced that it will give away 500 travel tickets to fully vaccinated HK residents. These tickets will offer unlimited travel on the MTR network for an entire year. Keep an eye out for the latest announcements with details on how to enter.

Staycation deals

As part of the “Stay Safe and Save” packages from Great Eagle Group, fully vaccinated HK residents can book a staycation at half the price of the room rate. Similarly, they can get 50% off on dining at Cordis, Eaton, and the Langham. When booking the special rates, guests are required to show their vaccination records during check-in.

Marriott Bonvoy is also giving away 5 million points to their Hong Kong members in a sweepstake. 10 winners will each receive 500,000 points to redeem for a free stay of up to 5 nights at any of the group’s 13 hotels in Hong Kong. These include Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and St. Regis, their dining venues/restaurants, and more than 7,600 hotels and resorts worldwide.

Likewise, Regal International Hotel is another group running a sweepstake that includes over 1,100 gifts. The first prize is a one-year-long free stay at an iclub Hotel. The second prize is a stay at a presidential suite at Regal Kowloon Hotel (10 winners), a one-night room stay at one of its 9 hotels (540 winners), and a buffet dinner at Regal Hongkong Hotel, Regal Kowloon Hotel, and Regal Riverside Hotel (600 winners), with a total value of more than HKD $2 million.

Other incentives

With so many other COVID-19 vaccine incentives in Hong Kong, this list could go on and on. Aside from the incentives we’ve covered, there are also plenty of shopping-based incentives, lucky draws, and more. On top of that, many Hong Kong businesses are offering incentives to their employees as well – with additional annual leave being a popular option amongst HK employers.

How to prove your COVID-19 vaccination status in Hong Kong

There are currently two ways you can prove your COVID-19 vaccination status. The first is by using the paper confirmation you received at the COVID-19 vaccine HK location. The more digital option is to scan your vaccination record’s QR code with the LeaveHomeSafe app or iAM Smart mobile app open. After scanning, your vaccination details will be stored inside the app.

If you haven’t booked your COVID-19 appointment in HK yet, we hope that this list of incentives will make it more enticing to do so. Getting your jab isn’t just beneficial to your health but can play a role in returning Hong Kong to the city we know and love that much sooner.
